The Uxbridge Hospital Redevelopment (UHR) project will deliver using Design Bid Build (DBB) delivery model, a new, modern hospital to serve the Town of Uxbridge and surrounding communities. The new facility (approx. 142,600 square-feet) will replace the existing hospital on the same site. As part of the new redevelopment, the hospital's clinical areas will include: - Ambulatory services - Emergency services - Inpatient services - Diagnostic Imaging and cardiorespiratory services - Inpatient laboratory - Inpatient pharmacy - Administrative services - Support services The Oak Valley Health - Uxbridge Redevelopment Project is being delivered using a Design-Bid-Build (DBB) model. Key features of a DBB model include increased owner control over the project design, as well as a high level of flexibility to respond to changing conditions and concerns. May 13, 2026: Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Oak Valley Health have prequalified five companies to deliver the Oak Valley Health - Uxbridge Redevelopment Project. Companies were prequalified based on criteria identified in a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process that began in December 2025. Selection criteria included the required construction experience applicable to this project, as well as the financial capacity to deliver a project of this size and complexity. The prequalified companies are: - EBC Inc. - EllisDon Corporation - Maystar General Contractors Inc. - Multiplex Construction Canada Limited - Pomerleau Inc. A Request for Proposals (RFP) is expected to be issued to these prequalified companies in summer 2026. Once submissions are received, IO and Oak Valley Health will evaluate the proposals, select a preferred company and negotiate a final contract. The successful company is expected to be announced in spring 2027. A fairness monitor will oversee the entire procurement process.
