Essex County Schools of Technology- Gymnasium HVAC Upgrades at Newark Tech Campus The cutoff for questions is March 6, 2023 @ 2:00 P.M. Any bid received from a contractor that is not a listed plan holder will be rejected. No documents shall be mailed, via US mail or overnight mail. Each proposal must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Bid Bond for not less than 10 percent (10%) of the total amount bid, but not in excess of $20,000, made payable to the Essex County Schools of Technology Board of Education. Successful bidder will be required to furnish a bond of a surety company, satisfactory to the Authority, in a sum equal to 100% of the total contract price. The Owner reserves the right to schedule additional meetings if it is in the best interest of the project. This project shall be bid as a single bid (lump sum all trades). Bidders must be prequalified by the New Jersey Division of Property Management and Construction (NJDPMC) for: Classification C008 General Construction or C009 General Construction / Alterations and Additions. Bidders must be classified themselves or have their classified subcontractor(s) for the following trade(s): Structural Steel and Ornamental Iron (C029), Plumbing (C030), HVACR (COD), and Electrical (C047). Or Classification HVACR (C032). Bidders must be classified themselves or have their classified subcontractor(s) for the following trade(s): C008 General Construction or C009 General Construction / Alterations and Additions, Structural Steel and Ornamental Iron (C029), Plumbing (C030), and Electrical (C047). All bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27 (Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action), P.L. 1963, C. 150 (New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act), and Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (42 U.S.C. 12101, et. seq.). All bidders are further notified that they must comply with PL. 1977, C. 33 and submit a Disclosure Statement listing stockholders with the bid. In addition all bidders must comply with P.L. 1999, c. 238 Public Works Contractor Registration Act and the contractor and all subcontractors must be registered in accordance with the Act. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids pursuant to law, to waive any informalities, deviations, or omissions in any bid or all bids, and to accept such bids and make such awards as may be in the best interest of the Owner as permitted in N.J.S.A. 18A: 18A. Furthermore, the Owner may request written clarification of any aspect of the proposal where, in the Owner's opinion, ambiguities exist. No bidder may withdraw its bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening of the bids.
