As of March 21, 2023, project was awarded to Chivers Construction Company, Inc., awarded amount is $1,605,346.50. Reconstruction of Bridges 0101, 0213, 1602, 3017 The project(s) is/are design-build reinforced concrete box culverts. The project(s) is/are situated as follows: Bridge 0101- on T-865 in Greene Township that carries Halfway Road over a tributary to the Shenango River, immediately east of the intersection with W. Jamestown Road (SR 4005) Bridge 0213- on T-905 in Sugar Grove Township carries K.O. Road over Minnis Hollow, immediately west of the intersection with Groover Road (T570) Bridge 1602- on T-609 in Lake Township carries Stock Farm Road over a Branch of Fox Run, west of the intersection with Strausser Road (T812) and east of the intersection with McCormick Road (T788) Bridge 3017- on T-750 in Springfield Township carries Tower Road over Black Run, north of the intersection with White Oak Road (T317) and south of the intersection with Veterans Road (T315) It is proposed, after execution of the contract, to begin work on the date specified in the Notice to Proceed or as otherwise provided in the specifications, and after that specified date to prosecute all of said work so as to complete it by May 31, 2024. Prequalification of bidders is required on this project as indicated in Specification Publication 408/2020, Section 102.01. A bid security shall accompany each bid in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid. Bid security shall be in the form of cash, a bid bond with corporate surety or a certified check (with no exceptions) payable to County of Mercer drawn on a bank authorized to do business in Pennsylvania. Further, the successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for performance and payment bonds and proof of insurance.
