Renovation of an educational facility in Brandon, Manitoba. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 43,500-square-foot, 11-story above grade educational facility.
Renovation to 80 student residences and mechanical riser replacement, full building window retrofit of 202 windows. Mechanical work will include modifications to the existing HVAC system in the ceiling space including supplemental ventilation to meet current building code, and modifications to the existing plumbing and sprinkler systems to suit the new tenant space floor plan. Sprinklers on the ground and main floors as well as new generator, fire pump replacement, emergency backup power for fire pump, fire alarm panel and building fire alarm upgrade, additional smoke control measures. TIMELINE: Demolition contractor has been awarded under a separate report (Rakowski Cartage & Wrecking Ltd). An RFP for Construction Management Services was also awarded under a separate report to Ben Wiebe Construction. Tendering for subtrades have closed (under a separate report. Construction expected to commence in December 2023.
