ORV Area Exit Ramp work: Excess sand to be removed on the exit ramp to the provide safe grade and slope for ORV travel. Care and precautions to be taken to avoid damaging all signs, posts, or fencing along the sides of the down ramp. Signs may be removed by contractor if preferred but the contractor will reinstall all they remove at the same location and manner prior to removal. Excess sand will be relocated to the South Flats area in the dunes (refer to map). Relocated sand will be spread out to avoid leaving piles. Mount Baldy base work: Sand removal and relocation to take place at east end base of Mount Baldy to maintain current travel lanes for vehicles. Sand needs to be cleared approximately 10 feet back from the westernmost edge of the vehicle travel lanes. Care to be taken to avoid damage to all vegetation and paved surfaces in the area. Signs and posts in this area will be removed by park staff prior to contractor beginning work. If additional removal is needed, contractor will request as soon as possible to park management. ORV area Entrance Ramp: Sand removal and relocation on the upper portion of the ORV entrance ramp to maintain safe grade and slope for ORV travel. Sand removal to take place between and under the guard rail sections to adequately maintain proper function of guard rail. Relocated sand may be transported to the designated areas and must be spread out to avoid leaving piles.
