Location: Garden State Youth Correctional Facility - 55 Hogback Road - Crosswicks, Burlington County, NJ A. The purpose of this project is to replace and upgrade the 4160V electrical service equipment related to the emergency power transfer system serving the Garden State Youth Correctional Facility. This work is necessary as evidenced by failure of the equipment to transfer to emergency power following a utility power outage during a storm in the summer of 2020. In addition, the arc chute on the 5 kV load break disconnect switch in LC-10 needs to be repaired. B. The proposed project's construction completion, including commissioning is March 3, 29, 2024. If the construction completion can be completed sooner, provide a written confirmation to NJ DOC, DPMC, and Engineer of Record. 1. Selective electrical demolition work associated with the removal/demolition of the padmounted 5kV transfer switches, load break switches, and cables. There will be demolition work associated with 480V and 208V equipment power in the area scope of work. 2. Electrical work associated with the following: a) Installation of the new medium voltage switchgear on a new concrete pad and interconnection of cabling along with grounding, and testing. b) Installation of the new step-down transformers (4160V - 208Y/120V), generator connection box, and other electrical distribution equipment as noted on the electrical contract documents. 3. Identification of all cabling and equipment. 4. Repair of the arc chute on the 5kV load break disconnect switch in LC-10. Coordinate with the Owner for the exact location.
