In general, the work consists of constructing approximately 1,300 linear feet of new asphalt concrete bike and pedestrian trail along American Eagle Avenue from Calvinson Parkway to Sperry Avenue. An existing concrete culvert will be modified to create an undercrossing for the new trail under Sperry Avenue. Masonry and concrete retaining walls will be constructed along both sides of the approaches to the undercrossing. 273 trees will be planted along the path and a new irrigation system will be installed. Approximately 5 trail lights will be installed along the trail, along with 5 roof-mounted lights in the undercrossing and 4 wall mounted lights along the northern approach to the undercrossing. The new lights will be connected to an existing electrical service. A new storm drain pump station will be constructed at the low point near the undercrossing. Existing water and storm drain pipes will be adjusted to fit the proposed improvements.
