The Work consists of the following items: 1. Construction of magnesium hydroxide tank containment area. 2. Relocation and modification of two (2) existing magnesium hydroxide storage tanks. Modifications include, but are not limited to, the following: a. Design, fabrication, and installation of new flanged level sensor penetration on top of each tank. b. Design, fabrication, and installation of interior tank baffles in each tank. c. Design, fabrication, and installation of tank anchorage and seismic restraint system d. Coating repair of tank interiors and exteriors, including preparatory steps, in accordance with Section 09960. e. As-needed modifications to existing tank penetrations to facilitate connection to new piping shown in the Drawings to provide a complete and functional system. f. Tank modifications shall conform to AWWA D100 (Welded Carbon Steel Tanks For Water) requirements. Proposed tank modification design, materials and procedures shall be clearly documented in a submittal for the Engineer's review Each Bid must also be accompanied by security in the form of a Bidders Bond issued by a corporate surety, a certified check, or cashiers check payable to the City of Galt, or cash. The amount of the bid security must be not less than ten percent (10%) of the Total Bid Price, consisting of the total base bid plus the total additive bid alternates. The successful Bidder shall be required to execute a Material and Labor Payment Bond and Performance Bond, issued by a corporate surety, in conformance with the requirements set forth in the Contract Documents, each for not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price. The City will not reimburse any costs associated with the development and submittal of any and all Bids.
