For Procurement No. 2023-21, City Wide Valve & Hydrant Replacement 5% bid security is required. For questions regarding this project contact the Purchasing office, 203 S. Farwell Street, P.O. Box 5148, Eau Claire, WI 54702-5148, telephone (715) 839-4957. All work on Project 2023-21, City Wide Valve and Hydrant Replacement, shall be at various sites located throughout the City. The City will notify the Contractor of the location of the valves/hydrants to be replaced/repaired and determine the timeframe for valve or hydrant replacement. The Contractor will submit a schedule for completing the work assigned by the City within ten (10 days) of being notified of the hydrants and valves to be replaced or repaired. The schedule will be subject to the approval of the Water Utility. The Contractor shall complete all work before moving to another job. In the case of a severe leak or similar condition, when considerable damage is being done to the street or adjacent area or when public safety is a factor, the Contractor will be expected to begin work within 2-3 hours after notification from the Water Utility. All inspection and administration of this contract will be conducted by the City Water Utility. All improvements to be constructed under Contract 2023-21 shall be completed by January 31, 2024, and within the constraints of all other pertinent contract sections. A list of hydrants and valves to be replaced will be provided by the City of Eau Claire Water Department to the contractor by July 11, 2023. This list hydrants and valves shall be replaced and repairs to the street completed by September 5, 2023.
