Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Kansas City, Missouri. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility; for site work for a municipal facility; parking garage; parking garage; water / sewer project; and water / sewer project.
McCownGordon Construction is requesting Subcontractor bid proposals for the KCMO City Hall Parking Garage & South Plaza Restoration. Work includes restoration and partial replacement of the existing underground parking garage at KCMO City Hall, replacement of the plaza on top of the garage, a new enclosed stair tower, and an alternate for an entry vestibule addition on the south side of the plaza. Scopes of work bidding with this package include: interior selective demolition, structural demolition, structural concrete, concrete restoration, structural CMU, stone masonry, stone cleaning, miscellaneous iron, roofing, waterproofing, sprayed fireproofing, hollow metal doors, glass and glazing, acoustical ceilings, drywall, stone and terrazzo flooring, paint, fire sprinklers, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, traffic control, utilities, landscaping & irrigation. All bids shall be held for a period of 30 days. Bid Bonds are not required. Prior to being awarded a contract, all bidders are required to qualify with McCownGordon. McCownGordon utilizes a secure online system to administer the qualification review process. Bidders who are not prequalified should go to electronically and click the Prequalify Now link to begin the process. Construction Start 7/13/2023 Construction Completion 12/6/2024 All questions shall be submitted no later than 5:00pm on Friday 3/3/2023 Project is NON-TAXABLE 1.11.1 Project is subject to prevailing wage requirements, Missouri Division of Labor Standards Annual Wage Order No. 28 for Jackson County. 1.11.2 Project requires union labor for the following trades: work performed by carpenters. 1.11.3 This project requires Certified Payroll 1.11.4 Work to occur during normal business hours. 1.11.5 This project does not require background screening of all employees working on site. 1.13.1 Project is subject to Liquidated Damages in accordance with the prime contract. 1.13.2 $1,500 per day until substantial completion. $500 per day until final completion. 1.14.1 Project is subject to any MBE or WBE participation goals (KCMO Certified MBE and WBE). Subcontractor shall comply with any minority/women's business development initiative or program. Further, Subcontractor acknowledges Contractor's mission to execute a standard of "best practices" in the construction industry by expanding access to contract and employment opportunities for minorities and women. Contractor seeks to maximize the participation of Minority Business Enterprises ("MBE") and Women's Business Enterprises ("WBE") and to increase the number of minorities and women working on projects. Subcontractor agrees to work with Contractor in good faith to provide reasonable assistance in achieving the diversity objectives, if any, identified in the Contract Documents. Subcontractors will be responsible for meeting and exceeding the stated MBE and WBE participation goals and objectives and for participating in this process throughout the duration of the Project. 1.14.2.1 MBE Participation Goal = 15% 1.14.2.2 WBE Participation Goal = 15%
