The award of this RFP is subject to appropriation of funds necessary by the City of Watertown. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, deemed not to be in the best interest of the City, at the sole discretion of the City of Watertown. The following specifications are desired by the City and are not meant to be exclusionary. Where a brand name or equivalent specification is used in this solicitation, the use of any brand name noted is for the purpose of describing the standard of quality, performance, and characteristics desired and is not intended to limit or restrict competition. If the service offered differs from the specifications, such differences must be explained in detail, and submitted with your proposal. All services proposed as equivalent will be considered. It is the intent of this specification to establish specific guidelines for vendors to adhere to when providing court resurfacing services to the City of Watertown. The City of Watertown, New York, hereafter known as the City, is seeking sealed proposals from qualified vendors to repair and resurface two (2) basketball courts. One is located at the North (John Adams) Recreation Field and the second at the Academy Street Playground location. A. Scope of Work - Specifications Location #1: North (John Adams) Recreation Field - Basketball Court (Dimensions 115' x 72') Furnish all materials, labor, and insurance to install the following: 1) Thoroughly clean surface with pressure washing. 2) Air blow and clean all bituminous concrete surfaces. 3) Thoroughly clean 50 linear feet of existing cracks, fill to refusal with Laykold Crack Filler and Laykold Two Component Polyurethane crack filler. Filled cracks to be sanded and coated with Bond Kote prior to color surfacing. (Crack filling is a temporary remedy, no warranty is expressed or implied for these repairs.) 4) Install the RiteWay Crack Repair System to 50 lineal feet of surface cracks, excluding concrete footers. The Rite-way Crack Repair System is designed to mask surface cracks existing at the time of repair. Future expansion and contraction of the asphalt surface may affect the components of these repairs and could result in new cracks. No warranty is expressed or implied for repairs made using the Rite-way Crack Repair System. 5) Patching of ONE low spot per ASBA industry standards. (Patching will reduce ponding but will not eliminate bird baths). 6) Install one coat Laykold acrylic resurfacer fortified with 60 mesh angular sand to entire area. 7) Install two coats Laykold color fortified with 80 mesh rounded sand to entire area. 8) Layout, mask, and paint one set of BASKETBALL lines with acrylic white line paint. 9) Thoroughly clean general work area. 10) Price includes color of owner's choice Location #2: Academy Street Playground - Basketball Court (Dimensions 49' x 48') Furnish all materials, labor, and insurance to install the following: 1) Thoroughly clean surface with pressure washing. 2) Air blow and clean all bituminous concrete surfaces. 3) Patching of low spots per ASBA industry standards. (Patching will reduce ponding but will not eliminate bird baths). 4) Install one coat Laykold acrylic resurfacer fortified with 60 mesh angular sand to entire area. 5) Install two coats Laykold color fortified with 80 mesh rounded sand to entire area. 6) Layout, mask and paint one set of basketball lines with acrylic white line paint. 7) Thoroughly clean general work area. 8) Price includes color of owner's choice.
