Phase II of the Carlisle Street Water Main connecting the current end of the water main near Innovation Drive to the existing INAW water main in Harlan Drive in Vigo County Industrial Park I and II As more specifically shown in the Drawings and Specifications, the project is for installation of approximately 2,700 feet of 12-inch pipe, fire hydrants, and valves, some of which must be installed trenchless (boring) the remainder to be installed by open trench; and portions of an existing vinyl fence will be replaced and the entire fence will be cleaned and repaired as appropriate as part of this water main project. Contractor must be an Indiana American Water approved contractor. Project Description: Extending a 12-Inch Water Main Questions concerning the contract documents, drawings or specifications shall be emailed to Zach Ehlers zehlers@corradino.com up until 11:00 AM, local time on the 1st day of March, 2023. Questions must be in writing via email, no phone questions will be answered. Written answers to questions will be provided in an addendum. No bids shall be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) calendar days after the bid opening without written consent of the VCRC. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of Vigo County Redevelopment Commission negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and acceptable surety, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) or the total amount of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. Bid Guaranty will be returned to unsuccessful bidders upon selection of the successful bidder. Bid Guaranty of the successful bidder will be returned upon the signing of contracts, and submission of performance and payment bonds to the VCRC. Bids may be held for a period not to exceed fourteen (14) days from the date of Bid Opening for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of the Bidders prior to the award of a Contract. The Vigo County Redevelopment Commission anticipates issuing the Contractor a Notice to Proceed on April 11th, 2023. The VCRC reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the Bidding to the extent permitted by law. The Vigo County Redevelopment Commission is seeking to extend Indiana-American Water's system in order to supply potable water to part of their Industrial Park. The proposed work entails constructing a new 12-inch water main from an Indiana-American water main at Innovation Drive south, generally paralleling Carlisle Street, approximately 2,000 feet to just south of the railroad crossing to tie into another Indiana-American water main. The new 12-inch water main will be installed by trenchless and open trench methods. Trenchless methods are required where the new water main will pass under a waterway or paved streets; open trench may be used in other locations. A casing pipe is required where crossing the railroad tracks and an existing sanitary sewer. Where the new 12-inch main is installed on the west side of Carlisle Street, it will partially follow the alignment of an existing twelve-inch diameter water main. This existing water main is a cast iron pipe that was constructed in the 1940's and was functional up until within the last five years. This existing pipe shall be removed, where indicated on the plans, and the new pipe laid in the same trench. The existing pipe, so removed, shall become the property of the Contractor. Contractor shall remove existing pipe from the construction site.
