Scope of Work: Replace approximately 1,060 LF of 6" DIP W/L with 8" DIP W/L 9 - 1" copper service connections 1 - 4" DIP service connection Relocate 1 existing hydrant, remove 1 existing hydrant, and install 1 new hydrant Replace approximately 1,030 LF of 8" VCP Sanitary Main with 8" PVC SDR 26 13 - 6" PVC SDR 26 lateral connections Remove 5 existing concrete manholes and install 4 new precast concrete manholes Clearing and grubbing for new W/L alignment Remove 9 trees (12"-24") Concrete sidewalk, drive apron, and curb replacement (where disturbed by W/L services and sanitary laterals) Construction Estimate- $575,147 Bid Due Date- March 14, 2023 @ 11:30 AM Anticipated Schedule: Notice to Proceed Date - April 10, 2023 Substantial Completion Date - August 10, 2023 Final Completion Date - August 25, 2023 The probable construction cost has been determined to be $575,147 All bids shall be signed and submitted on the forms bound in the contract documents. Bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope marked Bid for Contract 2023-01 North Park St Water and Sanitary Sewer Improvements Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code which shall be either a certified check payable to the City of Oberlin, or a bid bond satisfactory to the City, in the sum of ten percent (10%) of the price bid. Bid security furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety. Each Proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity. The owner intends and requires that this project be substantially completed no later than August 10, 2023. For the safety of the Oberlin School Students, on-site work may not begin until June 5, 2023. All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable use Ohio Products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of their project. This will be performed in accordance with the Equal Employment Opportunity Program of the City of Oberlin. Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Lorain County and the City of Oberlin, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of Labor and Work Safety (614) 644-2239. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed to the City Engineer - Randall Roberts, PE 85 South Main Street, Oberlin, OH 44074 rroberts@cityofoberlin.com. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by the City in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by the City as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than five days prior to the date for opening the Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by formal written Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. The City of Oberlin reserves the right to accept the lowest and/or best bid, to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities in the bids received, and to enter into the contract which, in the sole judgment of the City, will best suit the City's needs.
