The Rural Municipality of Clayton No. 333 is now accepting Request for Proposals (RFP) for roadside mowing operations for the 2023 season. The request is for a one (1) year contract expiring after the 2023 mowing season is completed with a contract renewal option for up to 2 additional years at the Municipalitys discretion. Mowing operations include: 1. An initial top cut plus a second and final full cut on certain roads, road allowances and road right of ways within the boundaries of the Municipality, for a total of approximately 1,300 kms. The Municipality reserves the right to reduce the said approximate quantities. 2. The initial cut will be completed between July 15 to August 15, 2023 with the final cut being completed by October 30, 2023. 3. Mowing shall be done with a 10-15 deck mower. Mowing must be completed in a manner so that minimal or no debris is deposited on the road surface. 4. Quality Control Targets - Cutting height should be less than approximately 6. Contractors may be requested to re-mow any excessively ragged or high cutting height areas without additional compensation. 5. Communications - Contractor is responsible for communications with Divisional Councillors and/or the Maintenance Foreman prior to each cut in order to ensure cutting is completed with specific mowing parameters and within set timelines for completion. Contractors are required to provide proof of Workers Compensation Board coverage (WCB clearance) and a minimum of $2,000,000.00 liability insurance coverage. Contractors are responsible for providing the required implements, operators and fuel for mowing operations. Contractors will be required to work around roadsides covered by haying agreements with adjoining landowners. Contractors are required to clean off equipment before and after each cut and before entering and leaving the Municipality. Contractors are also responsible for notifying the Municipality of any noxious weeds spotted during mowing operations and must be documented on maps. Maps for the work area will be made available at the Municipal office.
