Summer Deferred Maintenance 2023 Asphalt Improvements at various sites REQUIRED BID SECURITY: Each bid must be submitted with bid security as described in the Instructions For Bidders. CONTRACTOR LICENSE: The class or classes of California contractor licenses required to bid on and perform SURETY BONDS: As described in the General Provisions, the successful bidder must provide a Performance Bond and a separate Payment Bond, each in an amount equal to 100% of the total Contract Price, and each issued by a California admitted surety as defined in Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120 The award of the contract will be based on the lowest base bid. The Project is a public work project that is subject to, among other laws, Labor Code Sections 1720 through 1861, inclusive. As described in the Instructions For Bidders, each contractor (including subcontractors) must be registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations ( DIR ) in accordance with Labor Code Section 1725.5, and bidders must provide evidence of registration for themselves and their subcontractors. Each worker on the Project must be paid not less than the applicable prevailing rates of per-diem wages in the locality in which the Work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the Contract ( Prevailing Wages ). A copy of the applicable rates of Prevailing Wages is on file and available for review at the Place for Submitting Bids, and a copy will be posted at the Project Site. The Project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the DIR. The successful bidder will be required to post all job-site notices required by DIR regulations and other applicable law. If so specified in the Special Provisions, the District will conduct a mandatory conference for the purpose of describing labor-law requirements. The Work consists of any and all labor, materials, goods, supplies, equipment, tools, utilities, temporary facilities, transportation, delivery services, and other services and things of any nature whatsoever as are expressly and impliedly necessary to timely and satisfactorily complete the Project: (i) in strict accordance with the Contract Documents; and (ii) not laterthan the Required Completion Date specified in the Master Schedule. The Work consists generally of the following: o Various Locations: Remove and Replace all asphalt surface, replacement method to be a combination of 1 1/2 inches of grinding and overlay and full asphalt section replacement as indicated on the site plans attached to this document. Areas where grinding is unable to be achieved within Grind and Overlay areas, those areas are to be removed and replaced. All in ground utility and other structures shall be protected and returned to grade. Provide temporary striping (if necessary) after asphalt is replaced. Final slurry seal and striping to be completed on a day and time at least 30 days afterreplacement, to be mutually agreed upon by District and Contractor. Paint all curbs adjacent to newly paved areasto match existing. Stripping shall not occur on the same day thatslurry seal is applied.
