New construction of a fire / police facility in Vancouver, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 34,508-square-foot, two-story above grade fire / police facility; and fire / police facility.
The City of Vancouver (the “City”) is seeking expressions of interest (“Expressions of Interest”) from vendor groups or teams indicating their interest in presenting their qualifications to perform the role of Construction Manager for the Fire Hall 9 Renewal Project, which includes a Fire Hall with Fire Investigations, VFRS Senior Administration offices, underground parking and loading, as well as Department Operations Centre (tbc). Total gross area will be between 31,101 SF and 34,508 SF. The project objective is to replace the aging Fire Hall and expand Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services (VFRS) services as well as to support operational synergies and improve the City-wide coverage with the co-location of VFRS Headquarters, Fire Investigations, and VFRS DOC (Department Operation Centre) in one VBBL post-disaster importance factor building. The new building will be designed to achieve Passive House and LEED Gold certification, as well as it will meet the Rain City and Integrated Rainwater Management targets. It will operate using no fossil fuels.
