HVAC Replacement And Repair For The Following Schools: Edward F. Leddy Preschool Edmund H. Bennett Elementary School Joseph H. Martin Middle School The starting time to be announced in the official posting notice. The School Committee reserves the right to reject any/all proposals or any part of any proposal, as deemed in the best interest of the City of Taunton, Massachusetts. Any and all questions relative to these specifications must be submitted in writing to the Awarding Authority at least seven (7) days before March 15, 2023, and written answers shall be sent to all bidders as an addendum. Edward F. Leddy Preschool 36 2nd Street Taunton, MA 02780 This school has been identified as requiring an upgrade to the HVAC system. o Replacement of unit ventilators that include a steam heating coil and direct expansion (DX) cooling coils o Purchase and installation of a new heat pump system connected to these unit ventilators. o Purchase, and installation of a new packaged rooftop unit to provide heating and ventilation to the Cafetorium, this unit should be energy efficient and ensure improved filtration. o Contractor is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment. o Contractor is responsible for all necessary supplies and equipment to remove and replace equipment as well as delivery and disposal of all materials. o Contractor is required to put units online and ensure they are fully functional o Contractor is responsible for all roofing, electric connections, and plumbing. If electrical upgrades are required to ensure the system functioning properly please include this in the bid. o Contractor must furnish staging, rigging, cranes (if necessary), temporary supports, labor, and the materials to perform all operations in connection with the installation of the HVAC work. o Contractor is responsible for the removal and disposal of all old HVAC equipment and any debris from the work site. This building was constructed in 1947, if the contractor encounters any asbestos-containing materials (ACM), have a plan in place to dispose of them properly. It is unknown if the building contains any ACM. It is understood that this is unknown and a change order may need to occur. The change order must be reasonable and in line with industry costs.
