For 2022 Street Reconstruction The Project includes the following Work: Project includes removal of existing concrete pavement and construction of 7-inch concretepavementwith integral curb & gutter. Removal and replacement of adjacent driveways and sidewalks, andothermiscellaneous improvements. For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, andcontract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. Bidder shall not include sales tax in the bid. A sales tax exemption certificate will be available for all material purchased for incorporation in the project. The City of Missouri Valley, Iowa reserves the right to defer acceptance of any bid for a periodof sixty(60)calendar days after receipt of bids and no bid may be withdrawn during this period. Each successful bidder will be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to 100% of its contract price. Said bond shall be issued by a responsible surety approved by City of Missouri Valley, Iowaand shall guarantee the faithful performance ofthe contract and the terms and conditionsthereincontainedand shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor, and protect and saveharmlessCityofMissouri Valley, Iowa from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of thecontractandshall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvement caused by failures in materials andconstructionfor a period of two years from and after acceptance of the contract. The guaranteedmaintenanceperiodfor new paving shall be four years. Contractor shall fully complete the project in (no later than) August 19, 2022. Should the contract or fail to complete the work in this timeframe, liquidated damages of $250.00 per calendar day will be assessed for work not completed within the designated contract term.
