As of January 10, 2024, an architect and construction manager has been selected and this project is in the pre-construction/negotiated status. Schematic design is underway. It is anticipate sub-bidding will commence in late 2024 with construction starting early 2025. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Scope Architecture Firm is needed to provide Architectural and Engineering Design Services for proposed renovations at CPCC's Harris Campus, Building 1, to provide spaces for Wellness Programs including Cosmetology, Nails, Natural Hair, Esthetics and Massage Therapy programs. Design Services will also include renovations to the existing Cosmetology Program spaces at CPCC's City View Center to accommodate a new Barbering Program, after Cosmetology relocates to the Harris Campus. All questions should be directed to Greg Long, AIA by phone or email. Contacting any other staff or faculty of CPCC will be basis for disqualification. SELECTING CRITERIA In selecting the Commissioning firm, the selection committee will take into consideration qualification information including such factors as: 1. Specialized or appropriate expertise in the type of project. 2. Past performance on similar projects. 3. Adequate staff and proposed design or consultant team for the project. 4. Proposed design approach for the project including design team and consultants. 5. Recent experience with project costs, schedules and NC State Construction Office procedures. 6. Construction administration capabilities. 7. Proximity to and familiarity with the area where the project is located. 8. Record of successfully completed projects without major legal or technical problems. 9. Utilization of HUB firms in the design team. 10. Other factors which may be appropriate to the project. The method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this time.
