Site work for a civil project in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Conceptual plans call for site work for a development; and water / sewer project.
This project on HOLD. The Birch Island Bypass System was installed in 2007 to attempt to restore a higher water level in Birch Island Lake. The system brings additional water from Highway 62 to Birch Island. However, the system's inlet is located within the lake and is not readily accessible, making for difficult system maintenance and inspection. Additionally, sediment has accumulated near the inlet impairing its function. This project aims to bring the inlet closer to shore and dredge accumulated sediment. This project is in included in the Eden Prairie FY 2024-2033 CIP. As of April 10, 2025, per owner, this project is currently on pause as it works through a potential solution being led by a Watershed District. Thus, a design and construction contract has not been undertaken. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
