Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; for paving for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
**Per owner the bid date has been extended from 03/17/23 to 03/21/23** PN-202262.01 See instructions included in the 002113 Instruction to Bidders specification section, for the North Hardin HS and John Hardin HS Artificial Turf Fields, at the following locations: North Hardin High School, 801 S. Logsdon Parkway, Radcliff, KY 40160 John Hardin High School, 384 W. A. Jenkins Rd., Elizabethtown, KY 42701 The project includes acceptance of all existing site conditions (which are to be inspected by all bidders prior to bidding) and all other general construction, mechanical and electrical work specified in the Contract Documents dated February 2023. Liquidated damages will be assessed per the specifications. Direct Purchase of materials through Owner will be provided as a contractor's option. Refer to Supplemental Instructions to Bidders and construction documents for additional information. The work includes the construction of two (2) new artificial turf fields, one (1) at each High School. This scope of work for the construction project includes, but not limited to, the underground improvements for the new turf fields, excavation of existing soils, grading, underground drainage systems, fill materials, regrading of spoils on-site, new concrete curbs and sidewalks, new flagpoles and installing empty electrical conduit. The John Hardin HS site site has concrete retaining walls, ramps, steps & metal handrails & guardrails, an asphalt drive, and a building pad prep for a future greenhouse. The Artificial turf field system and its installation will be purchased off the State Term Contract by the District from a thirdparty. The contractor shall be required to coordinate the contract work with the Turf Field System supplier/installer and any daily school activities. Immediately following the scheduled closing time for receiving the bids, all proposals that have been completely filled out and have been properly submitted with the appropriate attachments in accordance with the Contract Documents will be publicly opened and read. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, payable to the Owner in an amount of not less than 5% of the bid. The award of the contract shall be made on the basis of the lowest and best bid in the interest of Hardin County Schools Board of Education. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the bid opening. The Hardin County Schools Board of Education provides equal opportunities to all of its bidders with respect to the bidding and award of construction contracts. Hardin County Schools Board of Education requires that the bidder submit with the bid the following information: 1. Bid Bond -- properly signed, witnessed and executed. 2. Proposal Form -- properly signed, with completed unit prices and listing of all subcontractors at time of submittal. A listing of manufacturers shall be submitted within one (1) hour following the bid. Bid Submission: Contractors are to place their Bid Bond and Proposal Form in one envelope. The submission envelope must be distinctly labeled for content with the project name and submitting company. NON-CONFORMANCE TO THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS SHALL BE GROUNDS FOR REJECTION OF THE BID. The Owner reserves the right to waive informalities and irregularities and shall have the right to reject any and all bids. The successful bidder shall provide a 100% Performance and Payment Bond. All questions shall be submitted no later than ten (10) days prior to the established bid date The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. The Project work includes the construction of two (2) new artificial turf fields at both High Schools. One of the fields is within the existing running track and the other field is a football only field and is not surrounded by a track. This scope of work for the construction project includes, but not limited to, underground improvements for the new turf fields, the excavation of existing soils, underground drainage systems, Storm water systems, drainage fill materials, concrete curb, wood nailer board, concrete flat work, grading and regrading of spoils on-site, installation of goal posts, installation of new flagpoles, and installing empty electrical conduit. One site has additional earthwork and concrete flatwork, concrete retaining walls with ramps & steps, metal handrails & guardrails, building pad prep (from excavation materials) and a new asphalt drive. This scope of work is basically all the underground systems needed below the artificial turf field system and improvements outside the turf field area. 2. The Artificial turf field system and its installation will be purchased off the State Term Contract by the District from a third party. The contractor shall be required to coordinate the contract work with the Turf Field System supplier/installer and any daily school activities.
