Site work and renovation of a military facility in Altus, Oklahoma. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
Project Description: 1. Eradicate blacked out numbers with arrows and ground ops line indicated in drawing. 2. Removal may be accomplished by water blasting, wire brushing, or other approved method. Removal shall meet requirements indicated within the specifications provided and shall be compatible with the type of pavement where the paint is to be removed. All paint markings with a buildup of 40 mils or more must be removed. 3. Surface preparation of the areas to be painted shall be as indicated in the project specifications. 4. Painting of the new markings shall be in accordance with project drawings. Guidance for the composition, location and size of the markings is covered in UFC 3-260-04. 5. This project will require paint of at least four colors; white, yellow, red, and black, depending on the location and purpose for which the paint is applied. See project drawings for location and specific colors of paint to be applied. 6. The project will also require repainting or re-establishment of stenciled markings indicating Entry Control Points (ECP’s), and other auxiliary markings such as aircraft nose wheel boxes, instrumental hold lines, directional arrows, etc. See drawings for locations and details. 7. All paint applied as part of this project (except for black paint) will require application of Type 1 glass beads to the painted areas at the rate indicated UFGS 32-17-23 8. Specific locations on the airfield to be repainted in this project are as follows: a. Taxiways Charlie, Delta, Echo 1 & 2, Foxtrot, Golf, Hotel, Juliet, Kilo 1,2, & 3, Lima, Mike, and November, North Ramp 9. Obliterate deceptive markings on north ramp and repaint as indicated in drawings. 10. Clean asphalt areas indicated in the drawings on page C-407. 11. Crack fill all cracks. Cracks with a depth greater than 1” to receive backer rod. 12. Apply asphalt seal coat to shoulder area indicated in C-407.
