Demolition, site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Hempstead, Texas. Completed plans call for the construction of a 60,000-square-foot, four-story above grade municipal facility.
The new courthouse is an updated version of the original 19th century court building that was torn down in the 1950s. The building is a 4-story structure totalling nearly 60,000 SF and will have a steel structure clad in natural stone with a mixture of zinc flatlock and TPO roofing. Work includes all building and sitework, as well as abatement and demolition of the existing courthouse. As of October 16, 2024, construction is underway and began in March of 2024.
