Renovation of an educational facility in Autryville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The project consists of the removal of existing metal roof and EPDM roof as indicated in Drawings. See Drawings for Roof Areas to be replaced. Roof shall be replaced with new metal panels or new PVC membrane. Single prime bids shall be accepted in accordance with G.S. 143-128. Requirements for bidding this project are as follows: 1. References: Three (3) references from previously satisfied commercial customers. 2. Furnish NC License Number (G.S. Chapter 87 establishes licensing requirements for general, plumbing, heating, electrical, and refrigeration contractors for construction projects costing $30,000 or more). 3. Insurance - The Contractor shall provide, as required by law, insurance for his employees. 4. Workman's Compensation 5. Recruitment of minority business participation in accordance with G.S. 143-128. 6. Bid Bond is required. 7. Certain Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) guidelines must be followed. 8. Bids submitted via facsimile (FAX) machine in response to this Invitation to Bid shall not be accepted. Bids are subject to rejection if they are not submitted on the provided Bid Form. 9. Firm quote: Prices and any other entry made hereon by the bidder shall be considered firm and not subject to change or withdrawal. 10. Descriptive Literature: All bids must be accompanied by complete descriptive literature, specifications and other pertinent data necessary for their evaluation as required by the attached General Conditions, otherwise they shall be subject to rejection. 11. Mailing Instructions: It is the responsibility of the bidder to have the bid in this office by the specified time and date of opening. Bid shall be sent via certified mail or hand delivered to Bid Opening. Overnight delivery is strongly recommended if mailing. Mail only one fully executed bid document, unless otherwise instructed, and only one bid per envelope. Address envelope and insert bid as shown below: Cut along the outer border and affix this label to your sealed bid envelope to identify it as a "Sealed Bid". Neither faxed nor electronically submitted bids shall be accepted. Be sure to include the name of the company submitting the bid where requested. Submit one (1) Bid copy. Email: jcebids@jenkinsce.pro The work of this project is defined in the Contract Documents and includes, but may not be limited to the following: 1. Removal of existing metal roof panels at Roof Area A,B,C,F,H,K, & Canopy. Existing High Density Board, ISO insulation, gypsum board, and steel roof deck shall remain. 2. Removal of existing EPDM roof at Roof Area D,E,G,I,J,L. Existing High Density Board, ISO Insulation, gypsum board, and steel roof deck shall remain. 3. Installation of new metal roof panels at Roof Area A,B,C,F,H,K, & Canopy. 4. Installation of fully adhered PVC membrane at Roof Area D,E,G,I,J,L. 5. Replacement of unsuitable HD board, ISO insulation, gypsum board, and steel roof deck in areas deemed unsuitable by Engineer. These items shall be replaced on a Unit Price basis only where necessary. 6. Replacement of unsuitable furring channels and/or metal studs where deemed necessary by Engineer. See Sheet G9, Detail 4, Note 14. These items shall be replaced on a Unit Price basis as necessary. 7. Inspection of existing roof drains. Existing roof drains shall be verified for functionality. Roof drains that are not functioning as intended shall be repaired/ unclogged as necessary or replaced as required. 8. Removal of existing gutters and downspouts. 9. Cleaning of existing surfaces to remain. 10. In areas where the Contractor and Engineer determine that steel deck or other roof deck needs to be repaired or replaced due to deterioration, Contractor shall ensure that concealed spaces above lay-in ceilings are free from roof debris resulting from roof deck replacement. 11. Any additional debris dumped on ceiling or room below resulting from roof deck replacement or other roof replacement work (roof curb replacement, roof hatch replacement, pitch pocket replacement, etc.) shall be cleaned to the satisfaction of the Owner. 12. Contractor shall take adequate precautions to protect or relocate existing furniture or equipment under areas where roof deck shall be replaced prior to beginning that work. 13. Installation of painted metal roof panels with Kynar finish. 14. Metal roof panels shall be formed and finished by manufacturer in factory setting. 15. Forming and/or painting/finishing of metal panels on site shall not be allowed. 16. Installation of new gutters and downspouts. 17. Clean up and removal of all excess materials and other products of demolition. 18. On-site storage and work facilities as necessary to execute the work on the site of the school. B. HVAC unit removal requirements 1. Existing RTU curbs shall be replaced with new curbs as part of base bid. Materials and labor required for removal, reinstallation, and restarting of existing HVAC units shall be included in base bid. Licensed HVAC contractors and Electrical contractors shall be used. Roofing contractor shall coordinate all work with HVAC and Electrical contractors as required. a. Only RTU curb itself shall be replaced. Curb adapters can be reused. b. Install new curb to fit existing curb adapters. c. Minimum curb height shall be 8" above finished PVC membrane surface. 12" or 14" curbs shall be used as required to achieve 8" minimum clearance above PVC membrane. d. Supply and return ductwork shall be extended if required to fit new curb. e. See Keynote #3 in Drawings. 2. HVAC units/ exhaust fans/ ventilators shall be inspected for functional operation prior to removal. Units that are not functioning prior to removal or adjustment shall be noted, logged, and reported to Sampson County Schools personnel. HVAC units that are functioning and are removed or adjusted shall be reinstalled and restarted in working order by licensed HVAC contractors.
