Renovation of an educational facility in Roseboro, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

All bids received will be made available for public inspection after the contract has been awarded. The project consists of the removal of existing built-up asphalt roof at partial roof section indicated in Drawings. Roof shall be replaced with ISO insulation board and PVC membrane Single prime bids shall be accepted in accordance with G.S. 143-128. Requirements for bidding this project are as follows: 1. References: Three (3) references from previously satisfied commercial customers. 2. Furnish NC License Number (G.S. Chapter 87 establishes licensing requirements for general, plumbing, heating, electrical, and refrigeration contractors for construction projects costing $30,000 or more). 3. Insurance - The Contractor shall provide, as required by law, insurance for his employees. 4. Workman's Compensation 5. Recruitment of minority business participation in accordance with G.S. 143-128. 6. Certain Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) guidelines must be followed. 7. Bids submitted via facsimile (FAX) machine in response to this Invitation to Bid shall not be accepted.Bids are subject to rejection if they are not submitted on the provided Bid Form. 8. Firm quote: Prices and any other entry made hereon by the bidder shall be considered firm and not subject to change or withdrawal. 9. Descriptive Literature: All bids must be accompanied by complete descriptive literature, specifications and other pertinent data necessary for their evaluation as required by the attached General Conditions, otherwise they shall be subject to rejection. 10. Mailing Instructions: It is the responsibility of the bidder to have the bid in this office by the specified time and date of opening. Bid shall be sent via certified mail or hand delivered to Owner. Overnight delivery is strongly recommended if mailing. Mail only one fully executed bid document, unless otherwise instructed, and only one bid per envelope. Address envelope and insert bid as shown below: Cut along the outer border and affix this label to your sealed bid envelope to identify it as a "Sealed Bid". Neither faxed nor electronically submitted bids shall be accepted. Be sure to include the name of the company submitting the bid where requested. Submit one (1) Bid copy Submit all questions in writing to Engineer, Jenkins Consulting Engineers. EMAIL: jcebids@jenkinsce.pro B. All RFI must be received via email no later than 7:00 pm Wednesday March 8, 2023 in order to receive a response. RFI received after this time will not be answered. The work of this project is defined in the Contract Documents and includes, but may not be limited to the following: 1. Removal of the existing built-up asphalt roof with granular cap sheet/ river rock. Remove roofing at locations indicated in Drawings. Remove all roof materials down to metal roof deck. Metal roof deck shall remain. 2. Inspection of existing roof drain within scope of roof replacement. Existing roof drains shall be verified for functionality. Roof drains that are not functioning as intended shall be repaired/unclogged as necessary or replaced as required. 3. Removal of existing gutters and downspouts at locations indicated in Drawings. 4. Cleaning of existing surfaces to remain. 5. Installation of self-adhered vapor barrier to existing metal deck. 6. Mechanical installation of new layers of ISO insulation board as indicated in Drawings. 7. Adhesive installation of cover board and PVC membrane as indicated in Drawings. 8. Installation of new gutters and downspouts at locations indicated in Drawings. 9. In areas where the Contractor and Engineer determine that steel deck or other roof deck needs to be repaired or replaced due to deterioration, Contractor shall ensure that concealed spaces above lay-in ceilings are free from roof debris resulting from roof deck replacement. 10. Any additional debris dumped on ceiling or room below resulting from roof deck replacement or other roof replacement work (roof curb replacement, roof hatch replacement, pitch pocket replacement, etc.) shall be cleaned to the satisfaction of the Owner. 11. Contractor shall take adequate precautions to protect or relocate existing furniture or equipment under areas where roof deck shall be replaced prior to beginning that work. 12. Clean up and removal of all excess materials and other products of demolition. 13. On-site storage and work facilities as necessary to execute the work on the site of the school. B. HVAC unit/Exhaust Fan/Ventilator Removal Requirements 1. Existing curbs for exhaust fans shall be replaced with new curbs as part of base bid. See Keynote 3 & 5 in Drawings. 2. Existing turbine ventilators shall be removed. Repair roof metal decking and install new pvc roof system. See Keynote #4 in Drawings. 3. Removal/ adjustment of existing HVAC units necessary for reroofing work shall be performed by licensed HVAC contractors. 4. HVAC Units/ exhaust fans/ ventilators shall be inspected for functional operation prior to removal. Units that are not functioning prior to removal or adjustment shall be noted, logged, and reported to Sampson County Schools Personnel. HVAC units that are functioning and necessary to be removed or adjusted shall be reinstalled and restarted in working order by licensed HVAC contractors. C. Kitchen Ceiling Replacement 1. NOTE: Kitchen ceiling replacement work shall be coordinated such that no debris from roof replacement/ deck replacement shall fall on new ceiling. 2. Remove existing plaster ceiling finish & system in its entirety, including all associated trim, clip, hanger, framing. 3. Remove all existing light fixtures and occupancy sensors. All existing conduits and junction boxes shall remain. 4. Existing kitchen hood shall remain and be protected from ceiling demolition. 5. Existing dishwasher exhaust fan/hood shall remain and be protected from ceiling demolition. 6. Existing hot water heater shall remain and be protected from ceiling demolition. 7. Install new acoustical ceiling system with washable ceiling tile. 8. Install new 2x4 LED lighting to existing circuit. Field verify existing circuit and conduit. 9. Install new 2x2 HVAC grilles to existing HVAC system. Field verify existing ductwork. Base Bid work consists of removal and replacement of existing built-up asphalt roof at this location as indicated in Drawings. This is a full roof replacement project. Roof shall be replaced with ISO insulation board and PVC membrane
