Question Deadline: Mon Mar 6, 2023 12:00:00 PM (EST) A brief summary of the Work involved in this Contract is for the removal and replacement of various sections of curb and sidewalk across the City, in Districts North and South. It consists of approximately: Section A - District South (Wards 6, 7, 8, 14): o 150 linear metres of curb reconstruction o 4000 square metres of concrete sidewalk and approaches o Any excavated soil materials are to be re-used within the same Work areas Section B - District North (Wards 1, 3, 4): o 250 linear metres of curb reconstruction o 2900 square metres of concrete sidewalk and approaches o Any excavated soil materials are to be re-used within the same Work areas Subject to the City's reserved rights and privileges set out in the Request for Tender documents, the Contract shall be awarded to the two compliant Bidders with the lowest total Contract Price per Section. Each Successful Bidder shall only be awarded one Section. Bidders are advised of the following Contract requirements for this Request for Tenders: Bid security: $61,000.00 The Successful Bidder will be required to provide a Performance bond in an amount equal to 50% of the Base Bid Price, excluding any contingency amount and all Value Added Taxes; Labour & material payment bond, in an amount equal to 50% of the Base Bid Price excluding any contingency amount and all Value Added Taxes. The bonds shall be in the prescribed forms set out in the Construction Act. There are no scheduled site meetings for this Request for Tenders. In accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code, Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2001 (ODA) and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA), the City of Hamilton will accommodate for a disability, ensuring full and equitable participation throughout the bid process. If a bidder requires this Request for Tenders in a different format to accommodate a disability, the bidder must contact the Tender Coordinator as soon as possible and in any event prior to the closing date. The Request for Tenders in the different format will be issued only to the requesting bidder and all Addenda will be issued in such different format only to the requesting bidder.
