The Benzie County Road Commission is accepting bids for our annual material commodities Please quote prices for the brine being spread continuous by carrier in 8,000 - 11,000-gallon loads. Calcium chloride 32-38% is to be spread between 1,900-2,500 gallons per mile determined by BCRC. Summer use brine storage in Honor pit will be provided by bidder in temporary tanks or trailers. Winter use brine storage will be in BCRC's tanks located in the Honor pit. Vendor will be supplied with the mileage certification on each road before brining commences and final costs may not exceed 10% of the estimated cost. Contractor shall complete first application within 3 weeks of start date, mutually agreed upon with the Benzie County Road Commission. Failure to complete the work within this time frame will result in a 20% reduction in unit price for first application work completed after the 3-week period. Contractor shall complete second application within 3 weeks of start date, mutually agreed upon with the Benzie County Road Commission. Failure to complete the work within this time frame will result in a 20% reduction in unit price for second application work completed after the 3-week period. period. Contractor must coordinate efforts with the County Road Foreman, to avoid applying chloride or brine to roads which have not been graded. Application must be made between the hours of 7:00am and 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. Distributor drivers will be required to comply with the Foreman's directions. The Contractor shall ensure communication with distributor drivers will be available for coordination between grading and chloride/brine applications. Non-uniform or otherwise unsatisfactory application shall be re-applied at no additional charge Spraying of chloride/brine on pavements will not be permitted, and the supplier will be billed for costs of clean-up of any such spray The Benzie County Road Commission reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to change quantities, extend pricing for additional years if mutually agreed upon, to waive defects or accept any proposal(s) that would be in the best interest of the Benzie County Road Commission.
