Renovation of a civil project in Newport, Rhode Island. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid payable to the order of the City of Newport, Rhode Island. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount equal to the contract award. All work under this Contract is subject to the prevailing wage rates of the State of Rhode Island. Ten percent (10%) of the tide gate portion of the project construction costs must be utilized for State certified DBE companies. Certified payrolls must be submitted for all work under this Contract. The Bidder shall submit EPA DBE forms with this bid. Failure to comply with the requirements of this paragraph may be deemed to render a proposal non-responsive. The City reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or to accept any proposals deemed to be for the best interest of the City.
