Any questions pertaining to this bid MUST be directed to:Susan PoffUW Oshkosh Purchasing800 Algoma BlvdOshkosh, WI 54901Phone: 920-424-2006Email: poffs@uwosh.edu Written Questions due February 27, 2023 @ 2:00PM Contract start date: March 2023 The Cage and Bottle Washer shall be a heavy-duty cabinet style, aqueous-solution washer intended for the cleaning and sanitation of laboratory animal cages, as well as bottles, pans and other items used in the vivarium. Processed items shall emerge from treatment in a clean, sanitized, having been washed with Alkaline and/or Acidic and pH neutralizing wash solutions, rinsed with clean fresh water directly from house supply, sanitized by exposure to high temperatures above 82.23 degrees Celsius or 180 degrees Fahrenheit for at least three minutes. Typical cycle times, depending upon supervisory choices, shall range from 8 to 25 minutes. The University's current incoming water temp is 114 F. B.1.2 Basic Information: o Overall Unit Dimensions: 70-72" W x 76-78" H x 50-52" D (in) o Chamber/Cabinet Dimensions: 43-45"W x 38-40"H x 43-45"D o Basic Configuration: Vertical Split Door, Steam Heated, Floor Mounted Freestanding o Service Side: Controls and Service access o Room Dimensions are L= 32' x W = 13' H = 10'. There are existing mechanicals in the room that limit the dimensions in this room. B.1.3 Product Description: o Designed for high throughput washing of various rodent size caging, bottles in crates, and miscellaneous laboratory equipment using steam heating o Capable of performing a wide variety of wash and rinse cycles. o Capable of washing mice, rats, and guinea pig cages, water bottles, and laboratory accessories o Capacity: High-capacity loading rack system with ability to wash a minimum of 72 standard mice or 12 standard rat cages per load; prefer maximum capacity with custom loading racks. Our current custom cage washer racks allow the university 20 - 22 rat cages per load and would be preferred. o Cabinet: The wash chamber, cabinet, and pump to be stainless steels construction. Exterior chamber double-wall construction, insulated, and minimum of 1" thick. Interior Chamber shall be illuminated and made of smooth side wall construction sealed to prevent leakage. Interior loading tracks for ease of loading and unloading equipment. o Door: Equipped with vertical split door finished stainless steel double wall reinforced construction. The University would prefer a viewing tempered glass window if the option is available. o Stainless steel pump and circulatory piping o Stainless steel rotary spinner spray arm system with a minimum of three removable spray arms for maximum spray coverage and adjustable spray options. o Automatic manifold connection to accessories o Temperature guarantee and treatment period programmable o Drain: Debris screens and self-cleaning filter; all effluent shall be cooled to 140 degrees F or below before discharge. o Stainless steel automatic exhaust vent damper with pneumatic actuator with electrical signal to the facility's HVAC system. o POV collar with pneumatic vent damper for direct connection to HVAC (standard) o Pumps supplied by the detergent supplier to dispense appropriate volumes of chemicals at the appropriate cycle phase should be adjustable via the unit with PIN code access. o Safety Features: Emergency Stop Button and automatic shut down when door is open, surge protection o Built in diagnostic and alarm notifications o Microprocessor Control System, touch screen monitor on right side with the ability to program multiple treatment cycles and PLC battery backup of microcomputer memory, including data printer. o Ethernet connectivity to PLC and touchscreen for remote online diagnostics, software upgrades, and troubleshooting from factory-based personnel. o All control circuit components and the control assembly as a whole shall be UL listed and the control assembly shall be fabricated and wired in accordance with all applicable UL, ULC, NEMA and NEC regulations. o Washer supplied with steam heat exchanger to increase the temperature of the incoming hot water supply to 180 degrees F. o Valve/Gauges: Utility water pressure gauges, hot water temp gauges, and water hammer arrestors. o The following essential accessories shall be provided with this machine: o Bottle Wash Cart o Transfer Cart o VHS Cart for Cages or Custom Loading Racks
