PROJECT SCOPE. The Historic Sites Division of the Texas Historical Commission wishes to contract for
architectural/engineering professional services with a qualified individual or firm for the design and construction
administration of the Site and Landscape Improvements at the Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site in Denison,
Grayson County, Texas. Responding firms should have specific education, training and experience in site planning, traffic design, design of
pedestrian spaces, and accessible design. Responding firms should include the following disciplines, either in-house or as
consultants: landscape architecture, structural and civil engineering, and other consultants as determined to be necessary
to perform the scope described herein. The anticipated construction scope includes:
o Construction of a new site vehicular entrance on Shepherd Street
o Construction of a new site pedestrian entrance plaza on South Lamar Street
o Relocation of a historic bronze statue of Dwight Eisenhower to a newly designed central plaza that includes
new hardscape features, landscape features, flagpoles, lighting and irrigation.
o Improvements and interpretive changes to street surfaces, drives, parking areas, and curb and gutter
throughout the site
o Construction of new sidewalks and other accessible pedestrian features throughout the site
o Installation of new signage throughout the site as needed
o Installation of new interpretive elements including physical outlines of buildings throughout the site that are
no longer extant
o Drainage and structural improvements as needed to complete the project goals 2.2 SCOPE OF SERVICES.
The Architect/Engineer will provide full design and construction administration services for the total project. In addition
to the prime A/E, it is anticipated that the services of a structural engineer, civil engineer, and electrical engineer will be
required. In addition to the standard construction documents, A/E shall prepare renderings and other collateral materials to assist
with fundraising for project implementation. Cost estimates will be required at each milestone submittal. A significant design effort has been developed and approved by the THC and other stakeholders, and this will serve as the
starting point for the anticipated project. Please refer to Exhibit D. 2.3 PERFORMANCE TRACKING. THC will monitor the performance of the Contract issued under this RFQ.
All services under the Contract shall be performed at an acceptable quality level. All Deliverables will be submitted in
accordance with the timeline agreed upon at contract signing.
