As of 5/12/2023 No award has been made. The Town of Berlin Public Works Department is seeking proposals for the removal of approximately 1,200 cubic yards of fill material from 30 Steele Boulevard. Bidder may inspect the fill pile during normal business hours and bidder is responsible for verifying the quantity and condition of material in the pile to its satisfaction. This material is excess site material generated from the Town's Steele Boulevard construction project. The fill pile was tested by the Town's environmental consultant for the project, Loureiro Engineering Associates (LEA), and the testing results and sampling letter are attached for information purposes only to this invitation to bid as Tab 1. The fill pile was tested for likely constituents of concern and the conclusion in the attached Loureiro Engineering Associates sampling letter for the fill pile indicates that the material would be suitable for use as fill material without restriction. Bidders shall form their own conclusion about the suitability of the material for any intended purpose and the material is being sold "as is" with no warranty by the Town. The Town reserves the right to amend or terminate this Invitation to Bid, reject all bids, and award the contract to the proposer that is deemed to be in the best interests of the Town. The successful bidder will be required to: 1. Acknowledge receipt of the LEA site investigation letter in the bid form. 2. Designate the intended off-site destination. 3. Transport the material (the Town will load the trucks provided by the selected bidder) with its own forces on or before June 1, 2023. 4. Provide the Town with a certificate of insurance naming the Town as additional insured on bidder's general liability insurance prior to transporting the material. 5. Provide the Town with satisfactory subsequent documentation that the fill was moved to the site indicated by the bidder in its proposal. 6. The successful bidder, if any, shall be solely responsible for the use of the material once the material is accepted by said bidder by virtue of the material being loaded in its trucks. A Bill of Sale will be executed, on an "as is where is" basis.
