**As of March 28,2023, this project has been awarded to Martin & Company Excavating in the amount of $1,629,017.31. This project involves replacing the current bridge carrying CH 9 (Leaf River Road) over Leaf River. The proposed project consists of removal of the existing four span (2 @ 26-6,2 @ 33-0(PPC Deck Beam Bridge and replacing it with a three span (2 @ 37-9 ,1 @ 64-6 (PPC Deck Beam Bridge and approach work thereto. Road closure is anticipated. The in-stream work will include removal of the existing structure, placing new piers, and channel excavation for placing proposed riprap. This project is located on the north edge of Leaf River, Illinois in the North Quarter of Section 36, Township 25 North, Range 9 East of the 4th Principal Meridian.ooPlease see the location map on the cover sheet of the Plans for exact stations and locations of the proposed bridge work.ooThe gross and net length of the project is 786 ft (0.15 miles). This project involves replacing the current bridge carrying CH 9 (Leaf River Road) over Leaf River. The proposed project consists of removal of the existing four span (2 @ 26e-6I, 2 @ 33e-0I) PPC Deck Beam Bridge and replacing it with a three span (2 @ 37e-9I, 1 @ 64e-6I) PPC Deck Beam Bridge and approach work thereto. Road closure is anticipated. The in-stream work will include removal of the existing structure, placing new piers, and channel excavation for placing proposed riprap. The coarse aggregate shall be crushed gravel, crushed stone, or crushed concrete. In applications where greater than 24 in. (600 mm) of ASI material is required, gravel may be used below the top 12 in (300 mm) of ASI. The Contractor shall submit two sets of shop drawings to Willett, Hofmann & Associates, Inc., for approval prior to distribution of the shop drawings. This work shall consist of post-tensioning the transverse ties in precast prestressed concrete deck beams after their erection in the field.
