Renovation of a residential development in Medford, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
The Medford Housing Authority, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from qualified contractors for the Electrical/Communications Service Entrance Equipment and Backboard Replacement project at the Willis Avenue Development, Medford, MA, in accordance with the documents prepared by Nangle Engineering Incorporated. The Project consists of: The replacement of the electrical building service entrance equipment and temporary removal of communications service entrance equipment to allow replacement of equipment backboard at 28 dwelling unit buildings Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 44A-J & to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.l49 26 to 27H inclusive. This IFB is subject to the provisions of MGL c.30B sec.5. and to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 and the Medford Housing Authority is an equal opportunity employer. Section 3 Business Concerns are encouraged to respond to the IFB General bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) in the category of Electrical. General bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates), and made payable to the Medford Housing Authority. Any questions must be submitted in writing to the Designer, at the e-mail address on the Project Manual cover, no later than 4:00 PM on Friday March 17, 2023. Questions after that time may not be responded to at the sole discretion of the designer. The Medford Housing Authority reserves the right to waive any informalities in or to reject any and all bids, or to waive any informalities in the bidding. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded after approval of the award by the Medford Housing Authority without written consent of the Medford Housing Authority. The work under the Contract consists of: (1.) Applying for and obtaining all permits required for the work, including but not limited to building, electrical and other permits, requesting and attending all inspections of the work; (2.) The work indicated below shall be performed at (28) dwelling unit buildings: (a) Demolition of meterstacks as noted or shown; (b) Replace plywood utility backboards with 3/4 " painted pressure treated plywood backboards; (c) Temporarily remove communications equipment, wire and conduit to allow installtion of new utility backboard; (d) Reinstall communications equipment, wire and conduit to new utility backboard; (3.) The work indicated below shall be performed at (18) dwelling unit buildings: (a) Excavation to accept base, ready for new fence post foundations; (b) Provision of fencing and accessories; (c) Restoration of grass and mulch areas to previous conditions; (4.) All electrical work as required to perform work; (5.) All earthwork as required to perform work; (6.) Provide temporary power as required (7.) Provide all coordination with the serving utility for power and communications as required; (8.) Testing, training, commissioning and demonstration of all systems; (9.) Record drawings, and photographs of the work in progress; (10.) All cutting and patching required to install the work, and restore areas affected; (11.) All Work either shown on the drawings or included in the specifications unless specifically indicated as not to be done. B. In addition, the Work under the Contract includes: (1.) Work outside the project site as called for in the Contract Documents and as required for the performance of the Work. (2.) The restoration of any items damaged or destroyed by encroaching upon areas outside ofthe project site. (3.) Providing and restoring, where appropriate, all temporary facilities
