Ella Baker Global Studies & Humanities Magnet School was built in 1926 and is located at the intersection of W 26th Street and Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a K-8 school operated by Minneapolis Public Schools Special School District No. 1. The scope of the renovations to the school as part of this project includes, but is not limited to the following descriptions. The 775-seat Auditorium will receive updates to AV/Low Voltage, Theatrical equipment, lighting, and finishes as part of this project. Scope includes, but is not limited to: - updated AV and technology throughout (projector, speakers, etc) - updated lighting - removal and replacement of theatrical equipment (rigging, drapery, etc) - updated finishes (carpet, paint) - fixed audience seating at main level will be replaced BY OWNER and done simultaneously to other work in the space Science Classrooms 302, 304, and 334 (Level 3) are being renovated to meet Minneapolis Public School middle school science classroom standards. This requires significant gut and renovation of the three spaces. Scope includes, but is not limited to: - Removal of existing science casework in entirety in all three classrooms - Removal and replacement of floor finishes (all three classrooms) - Removal of demising wall between storage and classroom to increase classroom size (room 302); this work causes ceiling replacement and some soffit re-configuration in room 302 - Removal and re-routing of glass acid waste piping for classrooms 302 and 304 to accommodate new casework layouts - New casework BY OWNER, work performed simultaneously Hazardous waste abatement by owner. Auditorium fixed seating and science classroom casework by owner.
