The 75 year old corrugated metal sanitary sewer gravity main located under the Mary Frances building and adjacent to Ketchikan Creek are leaking and require continual maintenance repairs to prevent raw sewage from spilling into the Creek and under the Mary Frances building. The project is complex in nature as the existing main traverses under and was cast into the foundation of a private commercial building. This project will seek to reroute the sewer main outside the building, where it can be accessible in the future, and replace the failing corrugated metal pipes This project is in included in the City of Ketchikan FY 2023 - 2027 CIP. As of February 27, 2023, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
