Project Description: Project consists of construction of new additions, renovations to portions of the existing building, site work, new out-buildings, and related site work. G. Construction Contract: Bids will be received for the following Work: 1. General Building Construction (GC). 2. Mechanical Construction (HVAC). 3. Plumbing Construction (PC). 4. Electrical Construction (EC). 5. Food Service Construction (FSC). 6. Roofing Construction (RC). Owner will receive sealed proposals until the time and date at the location indicated below. Owner will consider proposals prepared in compliance with the Instructions to Bidders issued by Owner, and delivered The School District is requesting bids to be made "net of insurance" and will award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder "net of insurance," all as more thoroughly described in the Contract Documents. B. Under this approach, Contractors and Subcontractors must remove the cost of Owner provided insurance from the Base Bid price. The lowest responsible bidder will be determined on a "net of insurance" basis. In other words, the Base Bid is to be identified by the Contractor excluding costs and expenses for General Liability, Umbrella/Excess Liability, Workers' Compensation, and Builder's Risk Insurance as delineated in the contract documents. Alternate Bids and Unit Prices are also to be set forth excluding cost for such insurance. The Owner will select which alternates it desires and will determine the low bidder based upon the bids without insurance being provided by the Contractor. A. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 10% percent of the proposal amount. No proposal may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after opening, except as permitted under the Bid Withdrawal Act 73 P.S. Section 1602. However, this time period is extended to 120 days if the award of a contract is delayed due to the required approval by another government agency, the sale of bonds or the award of a grant.
