The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is inviting bids from qualified communications systems to provide new portable radios for the Franklin County Sheriff's Office to improve the communication efforts within the department and throughout Franklin County as part of the implementation of the following awarded federal grant. The intent of the Franklin County School Violence Prevention Program (FCSVPP) for the request for proposals is to select a company to provide new portable radios for the Franklin County Sheriff's Office to improve the communication efforts within the department and throughout Franklin County. The requested radio portables are the Kenwood NX5200 6 Watt Portable Radios. These portables include; VHF, Analog, DMR Tier 2, KNB-L2 2600 mA Battery, KSC-32 Rapid Charger, KRA-26 Antenna, KMC-70M Speaker Mic., Belt Clip, and a 3-year warranty. New portable radios for the Franklin County Sheriff's Office will aid in the goals of the SVPP program by improving the communication and coordination efforts among local law enforcement, as well as with the Franklin County Regional Communications Center and others in the event of an emergency. The portable radios will assist in the improvement of the technology and communication infrastructure within Franklin County to ensure the best safety for the local schools and communities. The deadline for the completion of the project is September 2023. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to award the bid as it deems to be in the best interest of the County of Franklin.
