Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Brandywine, Maryland. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

The scope of work for this project consists of preparing construction documents necessary for construction of a new freshwater mussel Propagation and Culture building and other site improvement at the mussel hatchery. In addition, the proposed work consists of: installation of a “back-up” generator; domestic well and supply pipe; production well water supply and well water drain pipes; pond water supply and pond drain pipes; outdoor electric lines, pond water pump and filter station, supply pit with lift pumps, mechanical filter, and UV sterilization; pond water effluent treatment, containment pit with lift pumps, mechanical filter, and UV sterilization. The site is to be approximately six and one half (6.5) acres in size, located within the Manning Hatchery on the Cedarville State Forest facility. The existing location is currently populated with planted pine trees, which will require harvesting prior to construction The proposed mussel hatchery will include a Propagation and Culture building that shall be minimum 40 feet x 100 feet. The GSF of the proposed building is approximately 4,000 Square Feet and the NASF is 2,646 Square Feet. A new Pond Water Pump and Filtration Station of 12 feet x 40 feet (480 Sq. Ft. GSF and 209 Sq. Ft. NASF) minimum shall be installed near the new mussel hatchery building. Sewer Connection: The A/E shall design a connection for the Propagation and Culture building to the existing private sanitary system. Water Connection: The A/E shall design a connection from the existing water lines, including pond water supply network and well water supply, and a new domestic water system and new pond water supply / return to the Propagation and Culture building.Electric Connection: The A/E shall design an electric connection for the proposed Propagation and Culture building from the existing electric system. Telephone/Cable Connection: The A/E shall design a telephone/cable connection for the proposed Procurement Program Participation Goals MBE Participation (%) 20.00 Project Cost Class C - $500,000 to $1,000,000 *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
