Site work and paving for a road / highway in Yardley, Pennsylvania. Working plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

As of April 20, 2023, bids received were rejected as they were over the budget. Project will rebid but no definite date yet. Yardley Borough, Bucks County has received funding through the Severe Repetitive Loss Program, administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, in order to elevate the existing home located at 112-114 Morgan Avenue above the 100-year flood plain in Yardley Borough, Bucks County, PA. The work consists of, but is not limited to: Elevate and temporarily support the existing basement, provide lintels for the foundation wall openings, disconnect, relocate, extend and reconnect existing utilities and mechanical equipment, install flood vents, provide access to the elevated structure, and restore all disturbed areas and landscaping. CLARIFICATION DEADLINE 3/10/2023 4:00 PM Bidders are required to provide Bid Security in an amount equal to 10% of the total amount bid. Bid Security may be provided in the form of a certified check or a bid bond issued by a Surety Company licensed to transact such business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Upon award of a contract, the Successful Bidder shall provide a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the awarded contract value. Upon completion of the contract, the Successful Bidder shall provide a 2-year Maintenance Bond in the amount of 100% of the final contract value. Bidders are required to comply with the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of 1961, P.L. 987, No. 442, where the project cost is $25,000 or above for public work. Only the Successful Bidder for a contract will be responsible for payment of a fee to PennBid and for bearing the cost thereof. The amount of the fee due to PennBid is either 1/3% (0.0033) of the initial contract award amount for fixed fee contracts or 1/6% (0.00166) of the expected contract value for term contracts and will be invoiced by PennBid to the successful bidder upon award of a contract by the Local Contracting Unit. The minimum fee is set at $100.00 and the maximum fee is capped at $5,000.00. A. Base Bid 1. Prepare and submit building permit applications to Yardley Borough for approval. Contact PA One-Call to locate all underground utilities. Coordinate temporary utility disconnections with utility companies. Disconnect utilities and mechanical equipment and protect and store for relocation. 2. Complete removal and disposal of the existing exterior concrete/brick stair of 114 Morgan Avenue, as shown on the Project Plans. 3. Removal and disposal of the existing Bilco doors and timber staircase to the existingbasement area, by entrance to 114 Morgan Avenue. 4. Complete removal and disposal of the existing exterior concrete front patio and stair of 112 Morgan Avenue, as shown on the Project Plans. 5. Complete removal and disposal of the existing timber temporary supports in the basement area. The existing first floor joists will need to be temporarily supported in these locations during the elevation of the structure. 6. Complete removal and disposal of the existing basement foundation walls as shown on the Project Plans. The existing floor joists will need to be temporarily supported during house elevation in the locations where foundation walls are removed. 7. Elevate and temporarily support the existing house structure, perforate the existing crawlspace and basement slabs, and backfill the existing crawlspace and basement to finished grade. All other existing concrete slabs-on-grade shall remain. The finished floor elevation for the Base Bid shall be 42.50 feet, a total increase in elevation of 6.59 feet. 8. Furnish and install new concrete wall footings as shown on the Project Plans. This includes all steel reinforcement in the concrete foundation. 9. Furnish and install new concrete column footings as shown on the Project Plans. This includes all steel reinforcement in the concrete column footings. 10. Furnish and install new 12" CMU interior foundation wall as shown on the Project Plans. This includes all steel reinforcement in the proposed 12" CMU wall. This includes all wood sill plates. Base bid is to install foundation walls to match existing. 11. Furnish and install new 8" CMU foundation walls as shown on the Project Plans. This includes all steel reinforcement in the proposed 8" CMU walls. This includes all wood sill plates. Base Bid is to install foundation walls to match existing. 12. Furnish and install all structural steel members as shown on the Project Plans. This includes all steel columns and steel beams. 13. Furnish and install all foundation wall openings as shown on the Project Plans. This includes furnishing and installation all steel/concrete lintels for the proposed openings in the foundation walls. This also includes the installation of all required flood vents in the foundation walls of the structure. Doors and windows, including all framing, by others. Contractor to submit a request for information to verify door and window opening sizes. 14. Furnish and install new floor and roof framing members for the small building addition at the left-most garage door. The new floor and roof framing shall reflect the framing plans shown on sheet S-3. A 3/4" thick plywood subfloor shall be installed above the new floor framing, with the floor finish to be installed by the Homeowner. A 5/8" thick plywood roof deck and asphalt shingle roofing system shall be installed above the new roof framing, including required ice shield and felt underlayment. The color of the new asphalt shingles shall match existing. 15. Furnish and install new concrete footings for the proposed exterior decks/stairs at 112 and 114 Morgan Avenue as shown on the Project Plans. This includes the installation of all required steel reinforcement. 16. Furnish and install new pressure-treated timber framing for the proposed exterior decks/stairs at 112 and 114 Morgan Avenue as shown on the Project Plans. This includes the installation of all required handrails for the stairs/decks. This also includesinstallation of pressure-treated deckboards for the new deck/stairs at 112 and 114 Morgan Avenue. B. Alternate Bid - Additional Raising of House to Accommodate Requested Garage 1. The Owner of the property would like to raise the house an additional 3 coursings of CMU block, in order to accommodate for a garage area underneath the new floor level. This would be typical around the entire house. The base bid for raising of the house is 6.59 feet of elevation, which includes 1.5 feet of freeboard (base bid final elevation of 42.50 feet after elevation). The Alternate Bid would be for an additional 2.00 feet of elevation, making the final finished floor elevation 44.50 feet. Alternate shall be included for all improvements included within the Base Bid for the additional raising, including but not limited to deck, columns, additional stair treads/risers, railings, utility extensions, etc. C. Alternate Bid - Furnish and Install New Foundation, CMU Wall, Floor/Floor Framing, Exterior Wall Framing, Exterior Wall Sheathing, Vinyl Siding and Roof/Roof Framing for Garage Extension on Front of House 1. The existing structure shall be extended as shown on the Project Plans to accommodate the proposed garage area. This will require installation of a new concrete wall footing, 8" CMU foundation wall, floor framing, plywood subfloor, wood wall framing, plywood wallsheathing, vinylsiding, roof framing, plywood roofsheathing and asphalt shingles. This will also include all steel reinforcement for concrete wall footings and CMU foundation walls. Prepare and submit building permit applications to Yardley Borough for approval. Contact PA One-Call to locate all underground utilities. Coordinate temporary utility disconnections with utility companies. Disconnect utilities and mechanical equipment and protect and store for relocation. 2. Complete removal and disposal of the existing exterior concrete/brick stair of 114 Morgan Avenue, as shown on the Project Plans. 3.
