BID SECURITY: Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cash, money order or bid bond for at least 5 percent of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City of Worthington, which amount shall be forfeited as liquidated damages if the bidder, upon the letting of the contract to him, shall fail to enter into the contract so let. A false statement under oath verifying compliance with any of the minimum criteria shall render the prime contractor or subcontractor that makes the false statement ineligible to be awarded a construction contract on the project and may result in termination of a contract awarded to a prime contractor or subcontractor that submits a false statement. A prime contractor shall submit to the City upon request copies of the signed verifications of compliance from all subcontractors of any tier pursuant to Minnesota Statues, section 16C.285, subdivision 3, clause 7. The City reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive irregularities and informalities therein and to award the Contract in the best interests of the City.
