Site work and renovation of a civil project in Chapin, South Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

Grade existing lagoon into a flow equalization basin; Remove & dispose sludge & clay liner; Demolish & dispose of existing infrastructure; Install HDPE liner; Install aerators & leak detection/vent system; Install new duplex suction pump station. The Town of Chapin is proposing to close out and convert its existing wastewater lagoon into a flow equalization basin. This includes but is not limited to site grading, removal of sludge, removal of clay liner, installation of HDPE liner, demolition of existing treatment infrastructure, installation of mechanical aerators, installation of a duplex suction pump station, and installation of piping, structures, and all associated appurtenances. All sealed bids MUST be in the physical possession of the Town of Chapin, South Carolina on or before the exact date and time indicated above. Bids after this date and time shall be disqualified and shall not be opened. Sealed bids should be clearly marked Bid Package for Lagoon Closure at Chapin WWTP with the bidders name, address, and South Carolina Contractors license number on the outside of the envelope. Sealed Bids submitted by mail and/or carrier must meet the same requirements and should be delivered to the address listed above. No bid shall be accepted by telephone, email, or facsimile. The work under this Contract will consist generally of the following: o Treatment of the existing sludge by lime stabilization. o Solidification of the sludge by using several inches of the existing clay liner and a second treatment by lime stabilization. o Installation of a clay dike to separate the portions of the existing lagoon that will either be abandoned or converted to a flow equalization basin. o Demolition and disposal of the existing treatment infrastructure. o Abandonment of a portion of the existing lagoon by grading the area. o Application of the treated sludge/clay material to the abandoned area and the incorporation into the top layer of soil. o Final grading and stabilization of the abandoned area. o Final grading and installation of concrete collar and aerator pads. o Installation of HDPE liner and leak detection/vent system. o Installation of four (4) mechanical aerators. o Installation of a duplex suction pump station. o Installation of all piping, structures, and associated appurtenances./ The work to be done hereunder includes the furnishing of all necessary machinery, equipment, tools, labor and other construction means, and all materials and equipment required to perform all work asset forth and called for by the Plans and Specifications and including the placing of the entire project into satisfactory operation
