Award amount is $1,304,884.30** The South Jersey Port Corporation (SJPC) is an agency of the State of New Jersey with a mission to develop, maintain and operate marine terminals and related intermodal transportation infrastructure within the South Jersey Port District. The agency has primary offices at 2 Aquarium Dr., Suite 100 and port operations at the Balzano Marine Terminal and the Broadway Terminal in Camden, New Jersey. In general, the work on this project consists of the complete removal and replacement of the roofing system for Transit Shed 1 within the South Jersey Port Corporation Balzano terminal located in Camden County, New Jersey as detailed in these specifications. Project Location: 101 Joseph A Balzano Blvd. Camden, NJ 08103 Questions should be directed to Patrick Boyle, Sr. Purchasing Agent, at the following email address: pboyle@southjerseyport.com.No questions will be answered after 5pm on March 22, 2023 The Form of Bid Security shall be a BID BOND to accompany the Bid Proposal Package in the amount of 10% of the total bid price, but not in excess of $20,000, payable unconditionally to SJPC. Each bid shall also be accompanied by a letter of intent from the Bidder's Bonding Company confirming that, if the Bidder is awarded the Contract, the Bonding Company will furnish the required PERFORMANCE BOND EQUAL TO THE BID PRICE as security for the faithful performance of the Contract. T The SJPC reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive irregularities and technicalities, to request re-submissions, and to award proposals as the SJPC deems will best serve the interests of the SJPC. DESCRIPTION OF WORK The BASE BID work on this project is for removal and replacement of the existing roofing system with an exposed fastener aluminum panel roofing system, and consists of the following: 1. Remove and properly dispose of the existing asphaltic membrane roofing system, tongueand-groove wood decking, skylight assemblies, rooftop ventilators, and all flashing materials, down to abandoned existing steel framing. Remove and dispose of conduit piping attached to underside of deck as required. 2. Properly Remove & Dispose of approximately 40,900 square feet of 1 to 2-inch thick, nonfriable asbestos containing built-up roofing material and approximately 600 square feet of non-friable asbestos containing black tar roof flashing, as listed in the Bid Documents and site plans in accordance with applicable local, State, and Federal regulations, including the proper cleaning of the work area, and proper disposal of all asbestos contaminated wastes. 3. Sawcut, remove, and dispose of extraneous steel angle framing above the roof level as indicated in the project documents. 4. Furnish and install additional steel purlins where indicated in the project documents to carry additional wind loading on proposed roofing system. 5. Furnish and install the specified exposed fastener aluminum panel roofing system attached to existing steel framing as shown on the project drawings, including all flashing and trim necessary to provide a complete roofing system acceptable to the manufacturer's requirements for a full warranty. Follow all manufacturer requirements for number, location, and type of fasteners required for design wind loading. 6. Furnish and install vented ridge flashing as indicated in the project documents. 7. Furnish and install snow guards at the east half of the roof, of the quantity and type as indicated in the project documents. Snow guards shall match the approved roofing manufacturer's recommendations for size and spacing. 8. Furnish and install gutters and downspouts integral with the roof edge flashing as shown on the project drawings. The proposed downspouts shall be routed to existing downspout connection locations to the existing underdrain system. 9. Furnish & install flashing as required for tie-in to the proposed roofing system. 10. All work not specifically listed in a bid form pay item shall be incorporated into the lump sum/unit pay items listed. Construction is to begin no earlier than April 15th 2023, and shall be substantially complete by October 15th 2023
