Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Ansonia, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a 7,000-square-foot playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The CITY OF ANSONIA, Connecticut (hereinafter referred to as City), through the Office of the Economic Development, will accept sealed proposals to provide for the installation of playground equipment, reinstallation of existing playground equipment, refurbishment of existing play equipment, playground tie border, playground mulch surfacing, paved walkway special surfacing and paved access walk as shown or specified. The project location is noted above and existing equipment has been removed. The playground shall be installed as per equipment manufacturer instructions and by a certified/ qualified playground installer. The City of Ansonia reserves the right to accept or reject any bid as it deems necessary for the well-being of the residents of the City of Ansonia Inquiries or requests for onsite visits and general inquiries may be directed to Sheila O'Malley (somalley@ansoniact.org) Background Playground improvements at the Nolan Field Playground include: new 'FIRE HOUSE' themed play structure with various play elements. The 'fire house' is to have 5 fire house logos represented on the play structure. The logos will be supplied by the City. Besides the new play structure, existing playground equipment on site shall be reinstalled and refurbished. This includes 2 swing sets and 3 spring riders. The playground area will be bordered by a 2 course, 6 X 6 PT timber tie border. The old border shall be removed. The playground area will have 9" depth of approved fiber mulch. A new asphalt walkway, colored red, will be installed to provide ADA playground access. The area of the playground is aprox. 7000 SF. The adjacent splash pad area is not in contract, by others. Bids are being sought for the project described below. A site plan is attached as a digital file. SCOPE OF SERVICE Scope of services is for work associated with the installation and refurbishment of the existing playground area with new and existing equipment and related site improvements. Work to include: 1. Provide labor, materials, tools, equipment, and all else necessary, to furnish and install playground equipment and surfacing at Nolan Field Playground. 2. Awarded contractor must be certified installer for all manufacturer equipment and components. Installation of all new equipment, material and components shall include all required structural support and mounting necessary for complete and safe operation of the playground system. 3. Engineered specifications for all equipment and components must be submitted by Bidder for approval by Town. 4. Proposed price shall include all equipment, mobilization, surfacing, subbase, drainage, staging, installation, set-up and delivery of equipment, including disposal of all surplus items and material
