Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Sioux City, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The project is located on Pierce Street, Douglas Street, 30th Street and 31st Street and includes new sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, sidewalks, driveways and abandonment of existing diagonal storm sewer through the area. Each bid must be made on a form furnished by the City and must be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier's check or certified check of an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Sioux City, Iowa. The check or draft may be cashed by the City Treasurer as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within the ten (10) days after notice of award and post bond satisfactory to the City ensuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract. Copies of said construction documents are available at the office of the City Clerk of Sioux City for examination by the public. The documents are also available for viewing electronically. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. However, the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, re-advertise for new bids and to waive informalities that may be in the best interest of the City. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the state of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor. This project is funded using Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery funds established under the American Rescue Plan Act, therefore, American Iron and Steel (A.I.S) requirements shall apply to all applicable items incorporated into the project. The Contractor will represent and warrant to and for the benefit of the Purchaser (City) that (a) the Contractor has reviewed and understands the American Iron and Steel Requirement, (b) all of the iron and steel products used in the project will be and/or have been produced in the United States in a manner that complies with the American Iron and Steel Requirement, unless a waiver of the requirement is approved, and (c) the Contractor will provide any further verified information, certification or assurance of compliance with this paragraph, or information necessary to support a waiver of the American Iron and Steel Requirement, as may be requested by the Purchaser. This project has a late start date of July 10, 2023. Work shall be completed within 150 Working Days. Specifications for this project shall be the 2023 version of the Iowa Statewide Urban Standard Specifications for Public Improvements modified in accordance with the 2022 version of the City of Sioux City Supplement. The Notice of Public Hearing will be published in the Sioux City Journal on March 4, 2023 and March 11, 2023 A public hearing will be held before the Sioux City City Council in the Council Chambers, Room 504, City Hall, 405 Sixth Street, Sioux City, Iowa, on March 13, 2023 commencing at 4:00 P.M., Local Time, on the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimate of cost in the amount of $3,470,027.00 (the construction documents) for the construction of the 30 th Street and Pierce Street Area Storm Sewer Improvements Project in Sioux City, Iowa. At said hearing, any interested person may appear and file objections to the proposed plans, specifications, contract, or estimated cost of the public improvement. This public improvement project is located on Pierce Street, Douglas Street, 30 th Street and 31 st Street and includes new sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, sidewalks, driveways and abandonment of existing diagonal storm sewer through the area.
