As of February 2, 2024, the project has been awarded, notice to proceed has been issued and construction is slated to commence April 15, 2024, and be completed by May, 2025. The City of Marco Island is soliciting bids to construct a new high service pump station (HSPS) and flow meter pad at the South Water Treatment Plant located at 415 Lily Court, Marco Island, FL 34145. The scope of work includes but not limited to: 1. Demolition of the existing West HSPS and flow meter vault including associated equipment, pipes and other appurtenances. a. Demolish the whole structure of the existing building and the associated equipment and pipes. b. Demolish the flow metering vault. c. Demolish the existing West HSPS suction and discharge pipes. 2. Soil stabilization of the site for the new West HSPS. 3. New West HSPS and pipework: a. Construction of a CME block building, sub-divided into a pump room and an electrical room. b. Installation of two vertical turbine pumps and one additional pump can, compete with motors, and all associated piping, fittings, valves, and instrumentation in the pump room. Both pumps will be operated on variable frequency drives (VFDs). Provision will be made for a future fourth pump as indicated on the drawings, including the installation of its suction piping and pump can. c. Installation of all electrical switchgear, MCCs, panels, VFDs, and other equipment in the electrical room. Installation of air conditioning in the electrical room. d. Construction of the associated suction and discharge pipes, valves, and appurtenances. 4. New flow meter pad. 5. All associated electrical, instrument and control, fire protection, civil and geotechnical works.
