City of Cudahy received Clean California Local Grant Project (CCLGP) Funds from Caltrans for this project. The project includes four site improvements, focusing around the City's portion of the LA River. The project beautifies and improves public spaces, deters littering by developing unused lots, increases access to bike paths. The City received approximately $4.8m through CCLGP funds, including hard costs and soft costs. The proposed improvements at four public spaces are provided below: 1. Los Angeles River Bike Path (Site 1): Bikepath restriping, installing permeable pavers, benches, trash bins along river, upgrading fencing, pedestrian lighting, landscaping, irrigation system, entrances beautification, murals. 2. Cudahy River Park (Site 2): Landscape improvements to a dilapidated park across River main entrance. Bike path accessibility improvements including pathway rehabilitation, biking amenities, landscaping, lighting, irrigation system. 3. Clara Bridge Slopes (Site 3): Construct terrace gardens, LA River way finders, fencing upgrades, landscaping bridge slopes to deter littering, and create interest points toward river. 4. Otis Avenue Pocket Park (Site 4): Converting an undeveloped lot across a school into a pocket park. Landscaping, irrigation, pedestrian pathway, irrigation, mounting murals and public art, trash bins. Contract Awarded by City Council (tentative) April 2023 Questions regarding this proposal shall be submitted via email no later than March 8, 2023. The City reserves the right to reject all responses to this request at any time prior to contract execution, or only award a partial contract for a limited scope of work.
