Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Mohawk, New York. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; and for the construction of a bridge / tunnel.

The work to be performed under this Contract consists of furnishing all tools, materials, labor, bonds, insurance, supervision, and the performance of all work necessary and proper to complete the project as specified and as shown on the Contract Plans. The work to be performed is more specifically described in the Technical Provisions, as is the Project Location. The intent of this project and the work of the Contractor is to replace the bridge on Commons Road over the Cayadutta Creek. The scope and complete details of the work to be performed is outlined on the plans and specifications and generally described as follows: 1. Provide the necessary maintenance and protection of traffic in accordance with the contract documents. 2. Install temporary soil erosion and sediment control measures as shown on the plans and/or A.O.B.E. 3. Form and pour, placement #1 and #2. 4. Remove existing superstructure and portions of the existing abutments asindicated in the Contract documents, or as approved by the engineer. Refer to Note 3 on Sheet # 17. 5. Form and pour remainder of new conventional abutments. 6. Place and compact select structure fill. 7. Install new prestressed concrete box beam units. 8. Pour concrete deck and approach slabs. 9. Install new bridge, transition, and approach railing. 10. Perform all remaining work as shown on the plans including but not limited to applying protective sealing to the abutments, concrete deck, and approach slabs,sawcut grooving of the concrete deck and approach slabs, and placing topsoil and seed. 11. Open bridge to traffic & clean up A.O.B.E. Under these items, the Contractor shall remove existing guide rail or median barrier from the locations shown on the plans or indicated by the Engineer. Usable posts, usable fasteners designated in the Contract Documents and usable hardware designated in the Contract Documents shall be stored on-site at locations approved by the Engineer or off-site at locations designated in the Contract Documents. Guide rail or median barrier elements, other than the above, shall become the property of the Contractor and shall be disposed of offsite by the Contractor. The contractor shall cut existing asphalt pavement, concrete pavement, asphalt surface course, or asphalt concrete overlay on concrete pavement at the locations indicated and detailed on the plans and as directed by the Engineer.
