Site work for a water / sewer project in Avon, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project consists of removal of existing storm system and furnishing and installation of approximately 1,260 linear feet of 12-inch to 36-inch Reinforced Concrete Pipe storm sewers, together with pre-cast manhole (Owner Furnished), etc., grading, drive replacement, and associated restoration. Bid also includes early utility investigation/relocation phase which is built into the contract time. Due to the storm system removal and installation occurring along the same alignment, the contractor will be responsible for controlling and/or pumping stormwater discharges during the installation of each segment. Installation activities are anticipated during the dryer summer months to minimize dewatering activities. Same as Base Bid except that storm sewers outside of the INDOT right-of-way shall be High Density Polyethylene Corrugated Pipe. See Structure Data Table on Drawing Sheet C-06 for additional information. A pre-bid meeting for this project will not be held. The CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, consisting of Advertisement for Bids, Instructions to Bidders, Bid, State Board of Accounts Bid Form 96, Bid Bond, E-Verify Program form, Agreement, Notice of Award form, Notice to Proceed form, Construction Performance Bond, Construction Payment Bond, Application for Payment form, Certificate of Substantial Completion form, General Conditions, Supplemental General Conditions, Work Directive Change form, Change Order form, Field Order form, Technical Specifications, Addenda, and Drawings, may be examined at the following locations: Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond or a certified check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid to insure the execution of the contract for which the bid is made. In case the bid is not accepted, the check or bid bond will be returned to the bidder, but if the bid is accepted and the bidder shall refuse or neglect to enter into a contract with the Town of Avon within ten (10) days after the time he has been notified of the acceptance of his bid, said check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the Town of Avon as liquidated damages for the failure to do so. A conditional or qualified Bid will not be accepted. Bids received from anyone not on the Issuing Offices plan holders list will not be opened. Award will be made to the low, responsive, and responsible bidder as determined in the sole discretion of the Owner. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after closing time scheduled for the receipt of bids. The Town of Avon reserves the right to waive informalities and to reject any and all bids.
