Development of a 300-350 bed student residence building near the Early Years Centre. Scope to include food services and ancillary spaces like commons rooms and fitness space. The residence, which is expected to open in September 2027, is being developed through a public-private partnership (P3) with Tilbury Properties Corporation (Tilbury) and Fengate Asset Management (Fengate), who will design, construct, finance, operate, and maintain the residence. The residence will be a five-storey building on the north end of campus towards London Road in the green space to the east of the EarlyON Centre. It will provide students with a mix of hybrid and apartment-style suites, including kitchen facilities. Communal spaces, lounges, and outdoor patio space will ensure students have the built-in social opportunities that build networks and inspire lifelong friendships. Quiet study spaces will support students in their career-focused education. Tilbury and Fengate will finance the project and oversee construction, with Teeple Architects completing the design and Ball Construction undertaking the build. It is expected that Ball Construction will begin site preparations at the end of June. In the coming weeks crews will be mobilizing the site and excavation will start shortly after. The new residence building will be approximately 105,000 square feet, five storeys, and have 311 beds. TIMELINE: Groundbreaking was held June 2025.
