Site work and new construction of a detention facility in Atlanta, Georgia. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 3,000-bed detention facility; and for site work for a detention facility.
Project consists of a new state prison with associated site work. In in addition to a prison, work includes housing, administration, programming, general and vocational education, medical, intake and other related facilities. From orig solicitation: Project Description The new state prison is envisioned as a modern facility with the capacity to house 3,000 medium/close security inmates in a high efficiency sophisticated state owned and operated prison capable of meeting the changing needs within the correctional environment for the next 20 years. The facility is envisioned to be designed and constructed specifically to meet the needs for Georgia Department of Corrections and to provide all prison services to include housing, administration, programming spaces, general education, vocational educational, medical, intake, laundry, kitchen, etc. As of April 10, 2025, this project is not going forward. Funding for this project was withdrawn by Fulton County.
